How to Help

Our books would not be possible without the tireless dedication of volunteer grant writers, researchers, artists, interviewers, transcribers, translators, photographers, and designers.

We’re always looking for people who are willing to donate their time and skills to the project. If you are interested in helping Voice of Witness, send an email to:

letters@voiceofwitness.com

Give us a brief description of how you can assist us, and how much time you can give. Indicate whether you’re interested in volunteering specific skills, or in an internship.

Voice of Witness is currently seeking native speakers of Swahili, to help transcribe  interviews for our Congo book. If you speak Swahili (especially Congolese dialects) and would like to help, please get in touch!

Voice of Witness is a nonprofit book series that empowers those most closely affected by contemporary social injustice. Using oral history as a foundation, the series depicts human rights crises around the world through the stories of the men and women who experience them. Voice of Witness was founded by author Dave Eggers and physician/human rights scholar Lola Vollen, and is the nonprofit division of McSweeney's Books.
