In this Philadelphia Inquirer editorial, a senior policy researcher for the Immigration Policy Center argues that a pathway to legalization for undocumented workers would increase their tax contributions and purchasing power, whereas deporting millions of undocumented workers (and consumers) and/or implementing the E-Verify system would cost taxpayers tens, if not hundreds, of billions of dollars.
